Gyeonggi Fire Department Conducts Emergency Inspections of 94 Water Play and Accommodation Facilities for 'Emergency Exit Closures' and More
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will crack down on illegal fire safety violations at water play and lodging facilities.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 10th that ahead of the peak summer vacation season, on the 14th, it will conduct a comprehensive crackdown on the 'three major illegal acts' including emergency exit closures, fire facility blockages, and illegal parking at 94 water play and lodging facilities across the province.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters will deploy 94 personnel in 47 teams, including headquarters staff, fire station patrol teams, and special fire investigation teams for this operation.
The crackdown targets include ▲closure of emergency exits and acts causing obstacles in evacuation routes ▲blockage of various fire facilities ▲illegal parking around the facilities.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters will also conduct accident response guidance and safety education to secure fire evacuation and escape routes in case of emergencies.
A representative of the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters stated, "Since the crackdown date was announced in advance, strict punishment will be applied without tolerance if illegal acts are detected," adding, "This comprehensive crackdown is being carried out to create a safe environment at facilities where the number of visitors rapidly increases during the summer vacation season."
