The Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled announced on the 10th that it will start accepting applications for the "New Employment Incentive for Persons with Disabilities."
The New Employment Incentive for Persons with Disabilities is paid to employers with 5 to fewer than 50 regular employees who are not obligated to employ persons with disabilities, if they newly employ a person with a disability after January 1 of this year and maintain employment for more than six months.
For businesses with 32 or fewer employees, support is provided for one person; for businesses with 33 to 49 employees, support is provided for up to two persons.
The New Employment Incentive for Persons with Disabilities is a program announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and implemented by the agency. It will be operated temporarily for three years starting from July this year to improve the employment conditions for persons with disabilities, which have been difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to encourage new employment of persons with disabilities.
Eligible employers can receive support ranging from 300,000 to 800,000 KRW per month per newly employed disabled worker, depending on the worker's gender and degree of disability, for up to 12 months.
