Providing Content Led by Renowned Instructors in the Second Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul's online learning site ‘Seoul Learn’ announced on the 10th that it will present future education content by famous instructors every month in the second half of the year. The types of content include △career and jobs △extracurricular humanities literacy △college entrance and admission, with detailed topics focused on the instructors' areas of expertise.
By content type, it can be divided into YouTube live content related to career and jobs with famous instructors, metaverse platform-based content to cultivate extracurricular humanities literacy, and YouTube live content for college and high school entrance exam preparation.
The YouTube live content related to career and jobs with famous instructors will start on August 19 with Kang Hyung-wook (animal trainer) presenting ‘How I Achieve My Dreams.’ This is also a relay special lecture prepared to celebrate the 1st anniversary of ‘Seoul Learn.’ In October and November, Professor Han Jae-kwon (robotics expert, Hanyang University) will present ‘Robots Changing the World,’ followed by Dr. Kim Ji-yoon (Democracy Academic Research Institute) with ‘World History You Should Know.’
Next, the metaverse platform-based content to cultivate extracurricular humanities literacy will provide a unique opportunity for ‘Seoul Learn’ users to experience edutech-based content. Through the officially opened ‘Seoul Learn Metaverse’ on June 24, three special lectures on extracurricular humanities literacy topics will be held in July, September, and December.
Among the three special lectures, the first session will open on the 15th as a commemorative lecture for the opening of ‘Seoul Learn Metaverse.’ It will feature Professor Kim Heon (Western Classics), a popular lecturer at Seoul National University, presenting ‘Figures Challenging Limits in Greek and Roman Mythology.’ The second session in September will be ‘Fascinating Neuroscience’ by Dr. Jang Dong-seon (Curious Brain Research Institute), and the third session in December will be ‘They Want to Know, Social Psychology’ by Professor Park Ji-sun (Criminal Psychologist, Sookmyung Women’s University), all available in the ‘Seoul Learn Metaverse.’
Additionally, content related to college and high school entrance exam preparation will be provided for teenagers and college applicants who have many concerns. This will also be conducted through Seoul Learn YouTube live, and anyone interested, including parents and repeat test takers, can participate. Entrance exam content aligned with high school or university exam schedules will be offered consecutively, starting with the ‘College Early Admission Strategy Briefing’ in August, followed by the ‘2023 High School Entrance Exam Briefing’ (September), ‘High School Credit System and Career Planning Briefing’ (October), ‘2023 College Scholastic Ability Test Preliminary Scoring Analysis Briefing’ (November), and ‘2023 College Regular Admission Final Strategy Briefing’ (December).

Professor Kim Heon, who will participate in the July special lecture, said, “I hope that teenagers using Seoul Learn will listen to stories about ‘Figures Challenging Limits in Greek and Roman Mythology’ and find empathy in the courage to challenge.” Lee Dae-hyun, Director of Lifelong Education at Seoul City, said, “We plan to actively provide platforms and content based on edutech such as the metaverse in the future, so please watch with interest.”
