Unstable Vehicle Crashes While Trying to Regain Balance... 40s Worker Crushed to Death by Vehicle in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] A man in his 40s, Mr. A, died after being crushed by a vehicle while working at a textile manufacturing factory in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Jinhae Police Station and the Changwon Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 7th, Mr. A was managing steel frame transportation work beside a 2.5-ton forklift at around 2:50 p.m. on July 6.
Mr. A climbed onto the vehicle to maintain balance when the forklift tilted forward due to the steel frame's weight exceeding its capacity, but he fell and was crushed by the rear wheel of the vehicle, resulting in his death.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor is reportedly reviewing whether to apply the Serious Accident Punishment Act to the workplace, which has more than 100 regular employees.

The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident and whether there was any occupational negligence based on vehicle black box footage near the accident site, witness statements, and company personnel testimonies.
