Beauty Trade Show Held at DDP... Recruiting 200 Beauty SMEs Until the 22nd
One-on-One Export Consultations with 300 Invited Buyers... Overseas Mega Influencer Live Commerce and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] In October, a trade show gathering Seoul’s outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), overseas buyers, and overseas mega influencers with millions of followers, who will lead the globally spotlighted K-beauty trends, will be held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
On the 6th, the Seoul Business Agency (SBA), which supports overseas marketing and export channel expansion for Seoul’s SMEs, announced that the '2022 Beauty Trade Show' will be held in October and is recruiting 200 participating companies until the 22nd (for three weeks).
The '2022 Beauty Trade Show' is an event supporting Seoul-based SMEs with excellent beauty and cosmetic products to pioneer overseas B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) channels. It aims to match outstanding domestic companies with overseas buyers to generate tangible export results for participating companies.
Seoul plans to enhance synergy effects by linking the large-scale beauty festival ‘Seoul Beauty Week,’ held for the first time this year. ‘Seoul Beauty Week’ is a festival that globally showcases Seoul’s promising beauty brands and the latest trends while offering an experience of beauty, fashion culture, and Hallyu. It will provide an opportunity to experience ‘the beauty of Seoul’ by converging emotional industries with culture and tourism.
About 200 domestic companies manufacturing and distributing beauty and cosmetic products and over 300 overseas buyers invited by SBA will participate in online and offline ‘1:1 export consultation meetings.’ Various programs such as ‘live commerce’ hosted by famous influencers from countries where K-beauty is strong, including China and ASEAN, will also be held.
Applications for participating companies can be submitted by the 22nd through the ‘Business Application’ page on the Seoul Business Agency website by submitting the application form and other required documents. Any company located in Seoul that manufactures and distributes beauty and cosmetic products and wishes to be matched with overseas buyers and influencers through the ‘2022 Beauty Trade Show’ to enter overseas B2B and B2C markets can apply.
The Seoul Business Agency plans to select a final 200 companies through pre-matching with overseas buyers and influencers among the applicants. Selected companies will participate in programs such as online and offline one-on-one export consultations and live commerce at DDP in October. SBA will support discovering and matching overseas buyers, one-on-one export consultations and interpretation, matching with overseas mega influencers, and live broadcast sales support.
