The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight, 10,715 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed. The cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 18,379,552. The number of new cases on this day is 1,187 more than the previous day's 9,528. Compared to 6,786 cases reported a week ago on the 25th of last month, it increased by 3,929.
The daily new cases over the past week from the 26th of last month were 6,239 → 3,423 → 9,894 → 10,457 → 9,595 → 9,528 → 10,715. The average daily number of confirmed cases is 8,550.
Among the new cases on this day, 173 were imported cases. The number of new cases by region (including imported cases) are: Gyeonggi 2,819, Seoul 2,778, Busan 611, Gyeongnam 576, Incheon 525, Gyeongbuk 503, Chungnam 381, Daegu 369, Gangwon 313, Ulsan 311, Daejeon 274, Jeonbuk 274, Chungbuk 265, Jeonnam 243, Jeju 216, Gwangju 164, Sejong 79, Quarantine 14.
The number of critically ill patients decreased by 3 from the previous day to 53. The number of critically ill patients has remained below 100 since the 12th of last month (98 patients).
