It is analyzed that KHNP's sales efforts for Polish nuclear power plants are becoming full-fledged.
KHNP announced on the 1st that it signed a business agreement with BAKS, a Polish nuclear power company, at the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw, Poland, on the 30th of last month (local time). KHNP agreed to jointly participate in Poland's new nuclear power plant projects with BAKS and two other Polish companies and to strengthen local cooperation.
Poland is promoting a nuclear power project worth 40 trillion won. It is a large-scale project to build six nuclear reactors with a capacity of up to 9,000 MW. Earlier, KHNP submitted a business proposal to the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the main department in charge of Poland's nuclear power project, in April. The competition for Poland's nuclear power plant orders is expected to be a three-way race among Korea, the United States, and France. The main bidding will begin next year.
