The Old Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building Will Be Transformed into a 'Social Innovation Complex'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The former Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office will be transformed into a social innovation complex.
The Gyeonggi Province Governor Transition Committee announced on the 29th that it will create a "Warm Innovation Park" (tentative name) on the site and building of the former Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, envisioning it as a "social innovation complex" that serves as a hub for startups, culture, and innovation.
The committee expects that the establishment of the social innovation complex will help resolve regional imbalances, serve as a cluster space for innovative industries, and contribute to job creation and the improvement of residents' quality of life.
For a detailed roadmap, the transition committee plans to form a promotion committee including experts in related fields, advisory members, local lawmakers, residents, and stakeholders to actively reflect the opinions of the residents.
A representative of the transition committee explained, "Transforming the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office into a social innovation complex reflects the philosophy of Governor-elect Kim Dong-yeon, who is deeply interested in the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, and emphasizes sustainable growth and warm innovation that values both people and technology."
