Russian Foreign Ministry Adds Biden's Wife and Daughter to Entry Ban List... Retaliatory Sanctions
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-woo] The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced sanctions adding U.S. President Joe Biden's wife and daughter to the list of individuals banned from entering Russia. This is interpreted as a retaliatory sanction measure in response to sanctions against Russia.
According to Russia's TASS news agency on the 28th (local time), the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement regarding the introduction of personal sanctions against Americans, "In response to the United States' continuously expanding sanctions against Russian political and social activists, 25 Americans have been added to the 'Stop List' (list of individuals banned from entering Russia)."
It further explained, "They include senators responsible for building an anti-Russian agenda, participants in drafting anti-Russian sanction recommendations, and family members of President Joe Biden." Following the statement, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs attached a list of 25 Americans banned from entry, including Jill Biden, the wife of President Biden, and Ashley Biden, his daughter.
