Coupang Files Police Complaint Against 10 Union Members Occupying Headquarters in Protest
Charges of Obstruction of Business, Trespassing in Jointly Owned Property, and Refusal to Vacate Joint Premises
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Coupang has filed a complaint with the police against members of the Coupang Logistics Center union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Public Transport Workers' Union, who are occupying and protesting at Coupang's headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul, demanding sincere negotiations.
On the 28th, the Seoul Songpa Police Station announced that it has received and is investigating a case in which CBR Korea, the building management contractor of Coupang's headquarters, and Coupang's logistics subsidiary Coupang Fulfillment Service (CFS) filed complaints against about 10 union members on the 24th of last month and the day before.
They confirmed that the union members were accused of obstruction of business, trespassing on jointly owned buildings, and refusal to vacate jointly owned property. The police plan to investigate one of the accused on the 1st of next month.

Meanwhile, since the 23rd, the Coupang union has been continuing an occupation protest in the lobby of the headquarters, demanding a meeting with the three representatives of Coupang Fulfillment Service. They are also requesting improvements regarding the guarantee of a living wage and issues of harassment.
