Venture Investment Roadshow with Regulatory Sandbox Participating Companies Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) announced on the 28th that it will hold a 'Venture Investment Roadshow with Regulatory Free Zone Participating Companies' in collaboration with the Korea Venture Capital Association (Chairman Ji Seong-bae) and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC).
The event, scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. on the 30th, was planned to shift the funding supply system for free zone participating companies to an investment-centered model and to expand the proportion of local venture investments, which has remained in the single digits over the past five years.
The roadshow will feature 10 companies seeking investment, including Meju from the Gangwon Digital Healthcare Free Zone, and 28 specialized investment institutions such as IMM Investment, conducting investment attraction presentations (IR) and one-on-one investment consultations.
The first part of the event, the investment attraction presentation, will be a comprehensive verification session of the participating companies' technological innovation, business feasibility, and marketability. It will include IR presentations from 10 companies selected through prior evaluation and a Q&A session with investment reviewers to discover investment targets.
The second part, the one-on-one investment consultation, will involve 10 specialized investment institutions participating in the event sharing know-how from an investor's perspective on what free zone participating companies need to prepare to receive investments. They will also provide consulting through one-on-one counseling to address any shortcomings.

Kwon Hye-rin, head of the Regulatory Free Zone Planning Team at the Ministry, said, "Looking at regional venture investment statistics, the proportion is high in the metropolitan area including Seoul, making the investment environment for local companies challenging. We will strive to expose free zone participating companies to more investment attraction opportunities."
