68 Critically Ill Patients Hospitalized... 3 Deaths
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] The number of new domestic COVID-19 cases has remained below 10,000 for 18 consecutive days.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 27th, as of midnight, there were 3,429 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cumulative cases to 18,329,448.
The daily new cases decreased by 104 compared to a week ago on the 20th, and by 2,817 compared to the previous day. Since 9,310 new cases were reported on the 10th, the daily new cases have stayed below 10,000 for 18 consecutive days.
Among the new cases, 3,315 were domestic transmissions, and 114 were imported cases. Imported cases have exceeded 100 for two consecutive days.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized rose to 68, returning to the 60s range after five days. This is an increase of 14 from the previous day. The nationwide critical care bed occupancy rate is 5.8%, with 5.3% in the metropolitan area and 7.3% in non-metropolitan areas.
There were 3 new COVID-19 related deaths, the lowest since 2 deaths on the 14th. All three were elderly aged 80 or above. Since the domestic outbreak of COVID-19, the total cumulative deaths stand at 24,525, with a fatality rate of 0.13%.

With 3,964 new patients added to home treatment yesterday, the total number of patients currently under home treatment is 40,589. Among them, 1,886 are in the intensive management group receiving health care from medical institutions.
