Unmanned Civil Service Issuance Machine Moved Outside Seongbuk-gu Office Building, Operating 24/7 Year-Round
Automatic doors, wheelchair access ramps, and CCTV installed for convenient use anytime by anyone... Free issuance fees for 12 types of civil documents including resident registration and family relations at unmanned civil service kiosks
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is relocating the unmanned civil service issuance machines currently operated inside the district office to outside the building to enhance convenience for issuing civil documents, and will operate them 24 hours a day, year-round.
Although the existing unmanned civil service issuance machines were located inside the building and available 24/7 throughout the year, residents faced inconvenience due to poor accessibility during late-night hours, weekends, and holidays. Therefore, by installing outdoor booths for the machines and relocating them outside the building, residents can now more conveniently issue civil documents.
The outdoor booth is located next to the Woori Bank ATM at the main entrance of Seongbuk District Office. It is equipped with automatic doors, wheelchair-accessible ramps, CCTV, heating and cooling systems, and safety reinforced glass to ensure that all residents can use it safely and comfortably.
Additionally, since 2022, Seongbuk-gu has fully waived the issuance fees for 12 types of civil documents including resident registration certificates and family relations documents issued via unmanned civil service issuance machines. Thanks to the fee waiver, residents’ financial burden has significantly decreased, resulting in a 165% increase in the number of documents issued through the machines compared to the same period last year.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “With the installation of the outdoor booths for unmanned civil service issuance machines, accessibility has improved, allowing residents to handle civil affairs more conveniently.” He added, “At the same time, we hope the fee waiver benefit will provide some relief to residents who are struggling with recent inflation pressures.”
