View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 24th that it introduced post-quantum cryptography (PQC) technology to Singapore government officials visiting Korea and explored cooperation plans with them.
On the 22nd, LG Uplus explained post-quantum cryptography, a cryptographic technology that can defend against attacks from quantum computers, to a delegation from Singapore’s Ministry of Communications and Information, telecommunications company Singtel, National University of Singapore, and the Singapore Quantum Engineering Program (QEP) during their visit to LG Uplus’s Yongsan headquarters in Seoul. LG Uplus also introduced the delegation to PQC-dedicated lines and USIMs implemented with physical unclonable function (PUF) technology.
Earlier, LG Uplus, together with cryptography specialist CryptoLab and optical transmission equipment specialist Cowiver, launched the world’s first commercial PQC-dedicated line in April.

Goo Sung-chul, Head of LG Uplus’s Wired Business Division, said, “The visit by the Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information and Singtel delegation made us realize that the era of quantum computers is rapidly approaching,” adding, “We hope to expand post-quantum cryptography not only in the Asian market but also across the global telecommunications industry.”
