Simmin, Imsil County Governor, Goes All Out for National Budget Securing and Current Projects

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Shim Min, the mayor of Imsil County, is making an all-out effort to complete the seamless Seomjin River Renaissance.

According to the county on the 23rd, Mayor Shim visited the National Assembly to actively express the need for parliamentary support to secure national budget and resolve pending issues for key county projects, as the Ministry of Economy and Finance's review for next year's department budget allocation is in full swing.

On this day, Mayor Shim met with Lee Yong-ho, the local district member of the National Assembly, explained the key county projects and the need to secure national budget, and requested active support.

Mayor Shim's swift actions are interpreted as a strong will to fulfill the promise made to the residents to successfully complete unfinished projects, having become the first in the county's history to win a third term in the local elections on June 1 and serving as the head of the county administration for 8 years during the 6th and 7th elected terms.

On this day, Mayor Shim actively explained the necessity of ▲ opening the Okjeongho Circulation Road (49 billion KRW), ▲ creating a national ecological trail (6 billion KRW), and ▲ changing the water supply system of the Jeollabuk-do regional wide-area water supply system to complete the tourism industry based on Okjeongho.

He also emphasized the justification and necessity of ▲ creating the World Famous Dog Theme Land (18 billion KRW) to lead the era of 15 million pet owners, and as long-awaited projects for residents' livelihood and safety, ▲ developing the front fields of Unam Ssangam District (10 billion KRW), and ▲ upgrading the Cheongung~Imsil two-lane road (41.2 billion KRW).

He is continuing substantial communication and rapport with the office of Assemblyman Lee Yong-ho while actively requesting that these projects be prioritized in the national plan and included in the government budget proposal.

The county has opened the era of a 500 billion KRW budget for three consecutive years by achieving 511.7 billion KRW in the main budget this year, following 2020 and 2021.

This figure represents a 77.8% increase compared to 288.6 billion KRW in 2014, when Mayor Shim first took office.

This achievement is evaluated as the result of Mayor Shim quietly laying the groundwork by frequently traveling between central government ministries and the National Assembly to request national budget allocation and resolve pending issues.

Mayor Shim said, “During the 6th and 7th elected terms, we have carried out many growth-driving projects, and now in the 8th term, we will achieve great results. Over the next four years, we will steadily promote these projects and complete the Seomjin River Renaissance, opening the era of ten million tourists.”
