Jeongeup-si Selects 7 Outstanding Public Officials for Proactive Administration
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 23rd that it has selected seven exemplary public officials for proactive administration to promote a culture of active administration and foster a proactive working culture within the public sector.
The selected outstanding public officials include Kim Seunghwan, administrative officer of the Architecture Division; Kim Donggon of the Construction Division; Park Jongchan of the Women and Family Division; Won Jinseong of the Urban Regeneration Division; Park Jongdeok of the Taxation Division; Park Seongjae of the Safety General Division; and Yoo Jonghyun, administrative officer of the Facility Management Office.
The city focused on factors such as citizen perception, the importance and difficulty of tasks, the proactiveness, creativity, and expertise of the person in charge, and the potential for dissemination to determine the final ranking.
Administrative officer Kim Seunghwan was selected for the grand prize in recognition of his achievement in resolving the issue of the rental apartments in Hangyo-ri, Buk-myeon, which had been left as an eyesore due to construction suspension caused by the bankruptcy and financial difficulties of the construction company over the past 20 years, thereby addressing a long-standing wish of the residents.
Kim Donggon, who received the excellence award, promoted the opening of the entrance and exit roads toward Gwangju at National Road No. 1 (Yongho Intersection), alleviating the inconvenience of citizens who had to take detours to travel toward Gwangju.
Additionally, administrative officer Park Jongchan was recognized for his efforts in establishing a public-private integrated solution model to prevent child abuse, protecting children's rights, and creating a child-friendly environment.
Furthermore, four cases were selected as excellent cases (encouragement awards): ▲ resolving property rights issues of owners within urban planning facility sites (Won Jinseong) ▲ organizing vehicles with long-term unreturned license plates (Park Jongdeok) ▲ actively identifying recipients of COVID-19 disaster relief funds (Park Seongjae) ▲ reducing budget for installing shade structures at the Cultural Plaza children's playground (Yoo Jonghyun).
The city comforted the selected outstanding public officials for their hard work and provided incentives such as additional points for work performance and S-grade performance bonuses.
A city official said, “We thank all employees who are actively carrying out their duties for the citizens and public interest,” and added, “Please continue to do your best to actively carry out tasks from the citizens’ perspective so that Jeongeup can become a happy city for its citizens.”
