In an interview with MBC Radio that day, Rep. Kim said, "It is true that we received a request to withdraw lawsuits and complaints from the Democratic Party, and it is a fact that such a topic was brought up during the floor negotiation talks," explaining his statement.
Rep. Kim explained that even if the Democratic Party did not mention Lee Jae-myung's name explicitly, the lawsuits and complaints filed during the presidential election period are closely related to the candidate at that time. He said, "The lawsuits and complaints filed by both sides were especially related to the candidate; how many lawsuits unrelated to the candidate would there be? How could that be a major agenda for withdrawal? Asking to withdraw lawsuits unrelated to the negotiation of floor composition is nonsense," he added.
Earlier, the People Power Party withdrew some of the more than 80 lawsuits and complaints filed during the presidential election, but decided to keep those related to the 'Daejang-dong development preferential treatment case' and allegations of misuse of corporate cards by Lee's wife, Kim Hye-kyung.

Rep. Kim criticized, "Then, when asking to withdraw lawsuits related to the presidential election, did they say to exclude candidate Lee Jae-myung? This is a ridiculous excuse. Does it mean they asked to withdraw all lawsuits except those against candidate Lee? It's an absurd excuse," he said.
