View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Economic organizations on the 21st congratulated the successful launch of the Korean-type launch vehicle 'Nuriho' (KSLV-II), developed with domestic independent technology, and expressed their hopes that Korea will leap forward as a space power through future public-private cooperation.
The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) stated in a commentary signed by Yuh Wan-ik, head of the Industry Division, "We sincerely congratulate the successful launch of Nuriho and pay tribute to the efforts of all those involved, including the researchers who have worked hard for 13 years since 2010 for the success of Nuriho." The FKI also mentioned, "The success of Nuriho will be an important turning point for our country to advance as a space power," adding, "We hope this will lead to job creation in the scientific field and economic growth."
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), in a commentary signed by Kang Seok-gu, head of the Research Division, evaluated, "The success of this Nuriho launch is significant as it is the result of 30 years since the establishment of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute in 1989 and over 10 years of efforts to develop the 'Korean-type launch vehicle'." The KCCI emphasized, "The aerospace industry, a collection of advanced industries, is the result of accumulated technology and know-how from leading industries such as semiconductors and automobiles," and added, "It is expected to be a leading industry that will guide our future." Furthermore, it noted, "The reality is that there is still a large gap in technology and industrialization levels compared to advanced countries," and added, "We hope that the public and private sectors will cooperate more closely to realize a truly 'Space Power Korea.'"

The Korea Association of Mid-sized Enterprises (KAMCO) also issued a commentary expressing, "We sincerely congratulate the successful launch of Nuriho and deeply appreciate the dedication and efforts of not only the government but also the 300 companies involved in the project." KAMCO added, "With the success of the Nuriho launch, we have demonstrated global competitiveness and capabilities in the aerospace industry, a core national strategic sector in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution," and stated, "We must pool our wisdom together to firmly establish our global status as a leading advanced technology nation."
