[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] Woongjin Group announced on the 21st that it has opened the 'Woongjin History Museum' to commemorate its 42nd anniversary.
The Woongjin History Museum was completed with an area of 1,100㎡ in the Woongjin ThinkBig building located in Paju Book City. On this day, Woongjin Group held an unveiling ceremony attended by about 300 people, including Chairman Yoon Seok-geum, executives, employees, and related parties, and officially opened the history museum.
Chairman Yoon said, "We have achieved the best growth in South Korea and also faced great difficulties. Woongjin rose again based on transparent management and creativity even in times of crisis. All the processes Woongjin has gone through are contained here."
He continued, "I believe it will provide many topics and lessons, especially to young people and those running businesses. I hope it becomes a valuable record that inspires entrepreneurs who are going through hardships."
The Woongjin History Museum consists of a total of 10 sections. These include 'The Dream of a Salaryman,' which depicts the process of Chairman Yoon's founding, 'Changing Korea's Education,' which tells the story of establishing Woongjin Publishing and transforming Korean education, and the rental business born out of the IMF crisis. In addition, visitors can watch immersive media art videos that visualize Woongjin's history and see all the books Woongjin has produced in one place.
Coinciding with the opening of the history museum, Chairman Yoon published a book titled “The Power to Break Through Myself”. This book features questions from Dr. Jeon Mi-young of Seoul National University’s Consumer Trend Analysis Center on topics related to the realistic concerns of office workers in their 30s and 40s, such as self-esteem, growth, organization, performance, job change, and entrepreneurship, with Chairman Yoon’s answers reflecting his experiences and insights.

Chairman Yoon said, "Success and failure have always coexisted in my 42 years of management. The mindset of challenge and innovation, believing that 'I must change first,' enabled me to overcome problems during crises and became a powerful weapon that turned anxiety into confidence. I believe the stories of rising again through self-innovation and willpower at moments when collapse seemed imminent will help many who are contemplating the present and future."
