This program, operated under the National University Promotion Project, was conducted in the form of experiential classes for a total of 244 students, aiming to provide opportunities for students in rural schools and vulnerable groups to learn mathematics through play.
Current students and graduates of the Mathematics Education Department at Suncheon National University served as one-day teachers, using regular class hours to operate five math programs for 90 minutes in an educational cooperation format: Archimedean Spiral, Heart Puzzle, Soccer Ball Origami, Pythagoras Macaron, and String Art.
Students who participated in the program expressed satisfaction with the activities, saying, “Math, which used to focus mainly on problem-solving, felt fun when it was activity-centered experiential math. We hope more diverse programs will be offered, and that the time will be extended.”
