‘Digital Smart Busan Academy’ Launched ... Participation of 12 Institutions in Busan

The project group will hold the 'Digital Smart Busan Academy Launch Ceremony' at 9 a.m. on the 22nd in the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the Pukyong National University main building.
The 'Digital Smart Busan Academy' is a project where universities and companies form a large consortium to jointly design and operate educational programs and connect to employment, aiming to cultivate specialized software talent tailored to the field demands in the Busan area.
The consortium, consisting of 12 institutions including universities and companies led by Pukyong National University, was selected for this year's software professional talent re-education project by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation, and will operate the academy.
The project group will receive approximately 7.8 billion KRW in support over four years, starting with the launch ceremony.
To promote the smartization of Busan's leading industries, the project group plans to train more than 670 software professionals over four years through 16-week intensive technical training in five educational fields: digital finance, smart healthcare, big data, smart ships and ports, and smart factories.
The education targets are current students and graduates of Pukyong National University, Dong-A University, and Dong-Eui University who have taken basic software courses such as Python and deep learning.
Participants in the launch ceremony will include representatives from participating institutions such as Pukyong National University, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, Shinsegae I&C, BNK System, SCT, Intown, Sonamu Information Technology, ST Research, Toogram Systems, Pin Insight, Busan Economic Promotion Agency, as well as companies based in Busan supporting employment recommendations and field training.
At the launch ceremony, thematic presentations will be held covering education, startup and employment support, and talent development projects, including a presentation on the Digital Smart Busan Academy project promotion plan by Project Group Leader Professor No Maeng-seok.
