[Box Office] 'The Witch 2' Tops Weekend, Surpassing 'The Outlaws 2'

According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system, over the three-day weekend (17th?19th), The Witch: Part 2 (directed by Park Hoon-jung) attracted 1,009,308 viewers, ranking first at the box office. Since its release on the 15th, it has accumulated a total audience of 1,458,122.
The film depicts events that unfold when a girl who survived alone in a devastated secret research facility emerges into the outside world, and various forces pursuing her for different purposes gather. The cast includes Shin Si-a, Jo Min-su, Park Eun-bin, Seo Eun-su, and Jin Goo.
The film Crime City 2 (directed by Lee Sang-yong), the first movie to surpass 10 million viewers since the pandemic, drew 551,005 viewers, dropping to second place. It was released on the 18th of last month and has been seen by 11,463,310 people.
The animated film Lightyear, which explores the Toy Story universe, entered third place with 158,740 viewers, while Broker (directed by Koreeda Hirokazu), winner of the Best Actor award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival (Song Kang-ho), took fourth place with 158,449 viewers.
Additionally, Jurassic World: Dominion ranked fifth, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness eighth, You Are My Homeland ninth, and Missing tenth.
Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise and set to be released on the 22nd, attracted 58,117 viewers through paid weekend previews alone. As of 9 a.m. on the 20th, it surpassed 135,886 real-time viewers and a reservation rate of 51.4%, drawing intense interest.
