[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Kumho Tire announced on the 20th that it has opened the 27th Hope Study Room in collaboration with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation.
Since 2016, Kumho Tire has been conducting the "Together GREEN Hope Study Room Support Project" with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. This social contribution activity provides improved learning environments to underprivileged youth from low-income families and supports learning tools and furniture to help children envision a better future.
This project creates study rooms where students living in difficult circumstances but with strong will to learn and proper social character can focus on their studies. It helps children achieve emotional stability in a safe and clean environment and develop self-management skills and diligent study habits.
To support this study room, pre-interviews were conducted with the children to gift them the study room they desired. The 27th study room was transformed into a comfortable learning space by replacing warped windows with new ones, and newly installing lighting, wallpaper, and flooring. Furniture and electronic devices necessary for the study room, such as desks, bookshelves, and computers, were also provided.
The family selected for the 27th Hope Study Room will be monitored by various organizations including Jungnang District Office, Myeonmok Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Child Protection Agency, and Junghwa Middle School, each sharing roles to maintain the improved environment. Continuous case management will be provided to support the healthy growth of the child.
