The 5th 'Kim Jongsam Poetry Literary Award'... Poet Ham Seongho's 'The Tongue That Does Not Burn'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Poet Ham Seong-ho was honored with the 5th Kim Jong-sam Poetry Literature Award.
The Kim Jong-sam Poetry Literature Award was established in 2017 by the 'Kim Jong-sam Poet Memorial Association.' It is an award given for literary works. This year's winning poetry collection is the poet's fifth collection, The Tongue That Does Not Burn (Munhakgwa Jiseongsa).
The judging panel includes Lee Soong-won (critic, honorary professor at Seoul Women's University), Jeong Ho-seung (poet), Kim Ki-taek (poet, professor at Kyung Hee Cyber University), Shim Jae-hwi (poet, professor at Daejin University), Oh Hyung-yeop (critic, professor at Korea University), and Kwak Hyo-hwan (poet, director of the Korean Literature Translation Institute). The Memorial Association stated, "We shortlisted candidates over three rounds and selected the final winner after careful deliberation."

The selection criteria are based on whether the work aligns with the spirit of Kim Jong-sam's poetry. Eligible works are poetry collections published within the calendar year (January 1 to December 31) prior to the judging date by poets who have debuted more than 10 years ago. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the end of August.
