Jeju Samdasoo Hosts 'Samdasoo Day' Event Commemorating 20th Anniversary of Korea-Japan World Cup
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation, which produces and sells Jeju Samdasoo, announced on the 19th that it held the '2002 Korea-Japan World Cup 20th Anniversary Samdasoo Day' event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Korea-Japan World Cup.
The event took place on the 18th during the Jeju United home game held at Jeju World Cup Stadium. Jeju Samdasoo broadcasted a video encouraging separate waste disposal on the stadium's electronic scoreboard to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection among the audience. Additionally, 'Clean Zones' where PET bottles could be separately disposed of were installed inside and outside the stadium to encourage audience participation. Before the game started, a program was held to make automatic watering potted plants using PET bottles, conveying the value of resource circulation.
Furthermore, at the stadium entrance, Jeju Samdasoo was given to the first 1,600 visitors, and cheering clappers were distributed to about 2,000 spectators to heighten the enthusiasm of the cheers. At the player photo zone, fans had a photo time with Jeju United players, including Koo Ja-cheol.
Events recalling the excitement of the Korea vs. Italy round of 16 match held on June 18, 2002, during the Korea-Japan World Cup were also held. Through △'The Lord of the Rings' Ahn Jung-hwan game △'Two Hearts' Park Ji-sung game △'Seolbaudoo' Seol Ki-hyeon contest △'22 Years Eulyongta' event, souvenirs were given to the audience.
After the game started, a special cheering event using Samdasoo PET bottles was held. Cheering videos delivered by Jeju Samdasoo were broadcast on the electronic scoreboard, drawing great responses, and employees of Jeju Development Corporation participated in the cheering event with their families, adding to the excitement. In addition, various programs such as the 'Today is Orange Devil' henna experience event and the '2002 World Cup Commemorative Exhibition,' displaying souvenirs collected directly by fans, were held.
