On the 17th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had booked Mr. A, a man in his 30s of Chinese nationality, without detention on charges of violating the Act on the Regulation and Punishment of Specified Criminal Activities related to gambling.
Mr. A is suspected of operating an illegal private gambling chatroom called "Powerball" in a residential area of Daerim-dong.
The police responded to a report on the 12th about "internet gambling" and apprehended Mr. A.
At the scene, the police secured external hard drives and smartphones to prove Mr. A's charges and arrested him in flagrante delicto.
