Seoul City Surpasses 3,000 Users of 'Hospital Companion for Single-Person Households'... 'OX Quiz' Event
Not only for single-person households but also for anyone suddenly ill without family or acquaintances, a companion manager accompanies like a guardian
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 17th that the ‘Safe Hospital Companion Service for Single-Person Households,’ which started in November last year to assist citizens who find it difficult to go to the hospital alone when sick, has surpassed 3,000 cumulative users in 228 days. This is about a month after the cumulative users exceeded 2,000 in May.
The ‘Safe Hospital Companion Service for Single-Person Households’ is a service where a companion manager accompanies the user like a guardian throughout the entire process from leaving home to going to the hospital and returning home. Unlike the existing support system focused on the elderly and vulnerable groups, this is a new form of public service open to anyone regardless of income or age. It is available not only to single-person households but also to anyone who needs accompaniment because it is difficult to go to the hospital alone when sick. The usage fee is affordable at 5,000 KRW per hour, and citizens with income below 85% of the median income can use it for free.
Inquiries from citizens wishing to use the service are also increasing. Accordingly, Seoul City is conducting an ‘OX Quiz Event’ to help citizens easily understand the frequently asked questions and the core contents of the ‘Safe Hospital Companion Service for Single-Person Households’ and to resolve their curiosity.
The ‘OX Quiz Event’ can be participated in for two weeks from the 17th to the 1st of next month on the Seoul Single-Person Household Portal. Among those who answer the quiz correctly, 500 people will be randomly selected to receive a mobile cultural gift certificate worth 5,000 KRW. The OX quiz consists of three questions, focusing on the main points that citizens are mostly curious about and must know to use the service. You can take the quiz by clicking the event banner posted on the Single-Person Household Portal or by accessing the announcements, and hints for the quiz answers can also be found in the ‘Safe Hospital Companion Service for Single-Person Households’ project guide posted in the announcements. Not only residents of Seoul but also workers or self-employed persons located in Seoul can participate.
Meanwhile, in the second half of this year, marking the first anniversary of the ‘Safe Hospital Companion Service for Single-Person Households,’ Seoul City plans to hold a ‘User Experience Essay Contest’ to share vivid experiences and various opinions of users. While the quiz event serves to resolve citizens’ curiosity about the service, the essay contest aims to review the achievements of the past year and provide customized services by reflecting the voices of actual users.
