According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 16th, the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting hosted by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin includes participation from about 50 countries worldwide.
The meeting proceeded in the order of discussions on the current situation in Ukraine, the status of support from each country, and cooperation plans for medium- to long-term support for Ukraine. Additionally, held in conjunction with the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) Defense Ministers Meeting, participants agreed on the increasing severity of the Ukraine situation and decided that the international community would respond actively together.
Earlier, Vice Minister Shin held a Korea-Sweden Vice Defense Ministers' meeting with Jan-Olof Lind, Swedish Deputy Minister of Defense, stating, "Our government has been providing humanitarian aid and non-lethal military supplies to Ukraine and is closely monitoring the situation with great interest."
Recently, the United States announced a plan to provide weapons worth 1 billion dollars (approximately 1.3 trillion won), including artillery, to Ukraine.

The U.S. security assistance is reported to include anti-ship missile launchers, howitzers, and HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems) mounted on trucks, as requested by Ukraine. Separately from security support, the U.S. also announced an additional humanitarian aid package of 225 million dollars (290 billion won) for drinking water, medical supplies, shelters, and cash for purchasing essential household items.
