Gwangju Nambu Fire Station 'Visible Fire Extinguisher' Inspection and Fire Prevention Consulting
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 15th, the Gwangju Nambu Fire Station announced that it is conducting inspections of 'visible fire extinguishers' and fire prevention consulting, including maintenance of autonomous fire brigades, targeting alleyways and traditional markets.
'Visible fire extinguishers' refer to fire extinguishers that are more noticeable than conventional ones, installed in easily identifiable locations such as walls and pillars, allowing anyone to quickly find and use them in the early stages of a fire.
In particular, due to the narrow passages and dense structures characteristic of alleyways and traditional markets, fire truck access is difficult, and there is a risk of rapid fire spread in case of fire. Installing visible fire extinguishers in these areas can reduce casualties and property damage during initial firefighting efforts.
Accordingly, the Nambu Fire Station will inspect 121 visible fire extinguishers installed in about 30 locations, including alleys and traditional markets (Mudeung and Bongseon Markets) such as Deoknam Village, until the 8th of next month. The inspection will check the attachment status of fire extinguisher boxes, contamination or discoloration, pressure and external condition of the extinguishers, and the presence of trash or other obstructions.
Additionally, while distributing fire extinguishers, they provided education to market officials on the location and usage of visible fire extinguishers and urged autonomous fire prevention by identifying and eliminating risk factors in advance.
