GGM CEO Park Kwang-tae Awarded Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit

On the 15th, Park Kwang-tae was honored with the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit at the 19th Automobile Day ceremony held at the Novotel Ambassador Hotel in Seoul, co-hosted by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association and the Korea Automobile Industry Cooperative, attended by about 150 people including representatives from the automotive industry and government ministries.
The Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit is awarded to those who have made outstanding contributions to national industrial development. In the automotive industry sector, it is the highest honor given once a year to the individual with the most outstanding achievements among five comprehensive automobile companies and about 1,000 related automotive enterprises.
Park Kwang-tae, who received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, was recognized for his outstanding leadership and collaborative leadership as the inaugural CEO of Gwangju Global Motors, the nation's first win-win job creation company, successfully building a complete vehicle factory with a capacity of 100,000 units for the first time in 23 years in Korea and producing top-quality automobiles.
He also received high praise for creating over 600 jobs and establishing a labor-management win-win job model, which served as a catalyst for spreading the win-win job model nationwide.
Additionally, his active legal and policy support for fostering the automotive industry during his tenure as a member of the National Assembly and mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City contributed to the development of the automotive industry. His contribution to building the foundation for Gwangju to develop into a city producing 500,000 vehicles through the expansion of Kia Motors' Gwangju plant production line was also recognized as a significant achievement.
In particular, CEO Park served as the first and second CEO of Gwangju Global Motors, practicing labor-management cooperation based on the management philosophy of "win-win is the only way to survive," helping Gwangju Global Motors establish a new labor-management culture and become a successful company.
Based on this win-win approach, since starting automobile mass production on September 15 last year, he has presented a future vision by turning the company into a profitable structure.
