Pukyong National University Student Receives Special Award for Future Marine Science and Technology Excellence

Kim Tae-yeon received the Special Award, which is the President's Award of the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI), at the 2022 Korea Marine Science and Technology Council Joint Academic Conference held for three days from the 2nd to the 4th at the Jeju International Convention Center.
The Future Marine Science and Technology Person Award is presented by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Marine Science and Technology Council, jointly with the Korean Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers, the Korean Society of Navigation and Port Research, the Korean Society of Coastal and Ocean Engineers, the Korean Society of Marine Engineering, the Korean Society of Oceanography, and the Korean Society of Marine Environment and Energy, to foster and support emerging researchers in the field of marine science and technology.
Kim Tae-yeon participated in the contest with the theme "What are the scope and roles of automation on fishing vessels?" while working in the Maritime Crisis Management Laboratory at Pukyong National University, and was recognized for excellence.
The Korea Marine Science and Technology Council was established in 1999 as a federation of marine science and technology organizations to promote the development of marine science and technology in Korea, improve the status of marine scientists and engineers, and raise public awareness of marine science.
It includes six domestic marine-related societies and has over 8,600 members participating.
