The ‘Yeonhwajae Urban Area Disconnected Forest Trail Connection Project’ is a project that invests a total of 1.6 billion KRW to open a road connecting Yongheung-dong to the Daeryeon-ri area in Heunghae-eup and to connect the disconnected forest trails. A pedestrian bridge with a total length of 60m and a width of 2.5m will be installed to provide convenience to hikers who have experienced difficulties using the forest trails.
Currently under detailed design service, this project is the second section of the ‘Urban Area Disconnected Forest Trail Connection Project,’ following the forest trail connection project for the Pohang Interchange access road section completed in May. A safe and scenic pedestrian bridge will be installed, and additional sections such as Soti-jae in Uhyun-dong will be connected by the end of next year, aiming to connect about 20 km of disconnected forest trails in the urban area at once.
Kim Hyung-gu, head of the Green City Project Group, said, “This project will not only connect the disconnected forest trails to provide convenience to visitors using the trails but also, as it will be installed at Yeonhwajae, one of the gateways entering Pohang, we will strive to install a pedestrian bridge with excellent scenery to become a landmark of Pohang City.”
