Jeju Air "Establishing a Culture of Life Sharing through Blood Donation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Jeju Air announced on the 14th that it donated blood donation certificates and blood donation supplies to the Seoul Central Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross in celebration of the 19th ‘World Blood Donor Day.’
The blood donation certificate handover event took place in the Jeju Air conference room located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, attended by Kim I-bae, CEO of Jeju Air, and Kim Dong-seok, Director of the Seoul Central Blood Center.
The donated blood donation certificates were collected from Jeju Air employees who individually participated in blood donations and will be delivered to places in need of blood, such as patients with severe conditions.
In addition to the blood donation certificates, blankets and hand exercise Glipper (Jjamjami) necessary for blood donation were also presented to convey their heartfelt support. Following the blood donation certificate donation event, Jeju Air also held an employee blood donation event on the 14th of even-numbered months to promote a culture of blood donation among its employees.
For a safe blood donation event, employees willing to donate blood were recruited in advance, and only up to four people donated blood every 30 minutes. Employees donating blood strictly followed preventive measures such as temperature checks, wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, and maintaining social distancing inside the blood donation vehicle.
On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Jeju Air received a commendation from the Blood Management Headquarters of the Korean Red Cross for its contributions to the development of blood services. A Jeju Air official stated, “Although the blood supply level has reached a safe stage, we plan to regularly hold blood donation events and donation ceremonies to establish a culture of blood donation among our employees.”
