Naju-si 'Family Eco-friendly Yeong Briefing and Consulting' Held
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] On the 14th, Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced that it conducted the ‘2022 Family-Friendly Certification Briefing and Consulting’ to support the coexistence of family and work life.
Family-friendly certification is a system in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification to institutions and companies that exemplary operate ‘family-friendly systems’ such as supporting workers’ work-family balance through an evaluation process.
The briefing session, co-hosted by the Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency Family-Friendly Support Center and the Jeonnam Women and Family Foundation Work-Life Balance Support Center, was held at the 2nd-floor conference room of the Agricultural and Fisheries Chamber and targeted eight companies and institutions wishing for new, extended, or re-certification of family-friendly status.
Under the guidance of professional consultants, in-depth consulting was conducted focusing on family-friendly certification evaluation items such as ‘manager’s interest and will,’ ‘support for childbirth and child-rearing,’ ‘utilization of flexible work systems,’ ‘creation of family-friendly workplace culture,’ and ‘employee satisfaction with family-friendly management.’
Companies and public institutions that receive family-friendly certification are provided with incentives such as additional points during various evaluation project assessments, preferential interest rates from financial institutions, free workplace education, and facility usage fee reductions.
Since last year, the city has been the first basic local government to support the production of family-friendly certification plaques for the certified companies and institutions.
A city official said, “To promote the spread of family-friendly certification that aims for a balance between work and family, we will continue to strive to provide consulting, publicity, and incentives in connection with professional organizations.”
Meanwhile, the city was first designated as a family-friendly certified institution in 2017, extended in 2020, and is promoting re-certification this year.
