Launched to Share National Issues and Philosophy"
Yongho Lee, the secretary of the Political Affairs, Judiciary, and Administration Subcommittee, is briefing on the current issues of expanding the promotion of police officers with the rank of police officer to senior positions of superintendent general or higher and the introduction of multiple ranks at the briefing room of the Presidential Transition Committee in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 15th.

In an interview with KBS Radio on the same day, Lee said, "The initial gathering was a purely non-political meeting, but there were some misunderstandings within our party," and added, "There was also an aspect where we ourselves invited misunderstandings."
He continued, "Reports made it seem as if the meeting would operate like a party-government-national assembly consultative body, which seems to have sparked the misunderstanding," and added, "Another factor was that the timing of the reports coincided with intense emotional exchanges between Representative Lee Jun-seok and former Deputy Speaker Jeong Jin-seok, and at a time when there was much controversy in the opposition party about faction disbandment. So, when a new group emerged, people reacted sensitively."
Regarding criticism that the group is a private organization of 'Pro-Yoon lawmakers,' Lee strongly denied it. He emphasized, "When the group was formed, naturally, close lawmakers discussed and created it through tacit understanding," and added, "There was actually talk about including members with diverse tendencies in the group."
He further explained, "Since the president leads the state affairs mainly through the executive branch, those who participated fiercely in the election process might feel somewhat distanced from the government regarding major issues, which could lead to feelings of alienation. Therefore, many people gathered to study together and, if necessary, share the philosophy of state affairs," and clarified, "The frame that specific individuals are the core and that the group sits down with not only the party but also government officials to conduct some kind of consultative body is incorrect."
