German Chemical Company Covestro Conducts Cemetery Cleanup at National Cemetery
Volunteer Activities in June to Commemorate the Month of Patriots and Veterans

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] German chemical company Covestro announced on the 14th that it conducted a graveyard enhancement activity at the National Seoul National Cemetery.
The company explained that it carried out volunteer activities on the 11th in observance of the Month of Patriots and Veterans. It is said that they have been regularly volunteering at the National Cemetery since 2018.
After paying respects at the Memorial Tower, employees visited the graveyard to clean tombstones, remove weeds, and collect withered flowers and trash, tidying up the surrounding environment. After the graveyard purification activities, they toured the relic exhibition hall, deeply engraving the patriotism of the fallen heroes in their hearts. Strict quarantine rules were followed to prevent COVID-19. Jang Yongseok, CEO of Covestro Korea, said, "Through the graveyard purification activities, I hope all employees have an opportunity to once again engrave in their hearts a grateful mind toward the patriotic martyrs and the spirit of love for the country," adding, "We will continue to engage in various social contribution activities and strive to spread positive influence."

Covestro Korea is involved in various volunteer activities such as sponsoring the chemical experience camp "Open! Enjoyable World of Chemistry" hosted by the RC Council and the Petrochemical Association, and employee volunteer participation. As of 2020, the company operates 50 production sites worldwide. Approximately 17,900 employees work there. They produce polycarbonate, polyurethane, raw materials for coatings, paints and adhesives, special films, semiconductor and advanced display materials, among others.
