POSIDONIA, held biennially since 1978, is the world's largest exhibition for ships and related equipment. This year, over 1,800 companies from more than 100 countries participated. Leading shipyards, ship coating companies, navigation equipment, ship engines, and various ship equipment manufacturers presented the latest technologies, materials, and equipment, sharing information through conferences, seminars, and various events.
KCC, participating in POSIDONIA for the eighth time this year, focused on introducing new product lineups of antifouling coatings, whose market share has been continuously increasing, as well as anticorrosion coatings and topcoat product groups at this exhibition. The strategy is to secure new customers by quickly responding to environmental changes in the ship market and emphasizing technological superiority through promotional activities.
In particular, KCC's antifouling coatings such as the 'EgisELF Series' and 'EgisPacific(HS),' which do not contain organic tin-based antifoulants to minimize marine environmental pollution and effectively prevent the attachment of marine flora and fauna to the hull, thereby improving the ship's fuel efficiency, were introduced along with the ship condition management program through the FMS (Fouling Management System), receiving a positive response.
Also introduced were anticorrosion coatings that protect the hull by preventing iron from rusting due to excellent anticorrosion and seawater resistance while reducing environmental pollution by not using solvents, and the topcoat 'ST1020,' which secures outstanding weather resistance and is used on the ship's superstructure and exterior of living quarters.
