All Victims in Arson at Daegu Lawyer's Office Presumed to Have Died from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

According to Daegu police on the 11th, the National Forensic Service conducted autopsies on the seven deceased, and preliminary findings suggest that the direct cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning. Two of the deceased were found to have self-inflicted wounds caused by a sharp weapon, but it was also noted that these are unlikely to be the direct cause of death.

Meanwhile, at around 10:55 a.m. on the 9th, a fire caused by arson broke out on the second floor of a building housing a law office in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu. As a result of the incident, one lawyer and five staff members who were in the office, as well as Cheon Mo (53), who is presumed to have started the fire, died. Additionally, more than 50 residents in the same building suffered injuries from smoke inhalation.
