[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Cultural Heritage Administration's Blue House Public Opening Promotion Team announced that approximately 777,242 visitors have toured the Blue House within one month since it was opened to the general public on May 10.
According to the internal tour results, ▲ the Chunchugwan, which features a photo zone where visitors can experience being a spokesperson against the backdrop of the State Guest House, where state banquets are reenacted, and the Blue House briefing room, has welcomed 204,513 and 101,355 visitors respectively from its first opening on May 23 until June 9. Additionally, ▲ the Main Building, used for the president’s official duties and meetings, and the private residence, Gwanjeo, have been visited by approximately 272,968 people from their opening on May 26 until June 9.
The Promotion Team stated, “To prevent safety accidents among visitors following the Blue House opening, we have adjusted the tour routes within the premises and repaired the wooden decks along the walking paths, among other efforts. We also plan to continuously improve facilities for the convenience of the elderly and disabled, such as adding accessible restrooms and benches for resting.”
Furthermore, starting from the 15th, a dedicated shuttle bus service for Blue House tours will be newly operated for seniors aged 65 and over, pregnant women, children under 8, and people with disabilities. This bus will run every 30 minutes between Gyeongbokgung Station and the Blue House during operating hours to support visitors with mobility difficulties in traveling comfortably.
