Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters 119 Aviation Unit Conducts Fire Helicopter Rappel Training

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] The Jeollabuk-do Fire Headquarters (Chief Choi Min-cheol) 119 Aviation Unit conducted a mountain air rescue helicopter rappel training for 119 Aviation Unit members on the 10th at the Cheonbyeon area of Bongdong, Wanju-gun, and the Seobangsan area to establish a mountain accident rescue system.

This training was conducted under the scenario where the 119 Aviation Unit would be the first to respond and provide emergency treatment to rescue targets in case of an emergency, such as maintenance and inspection of the hoist (rescue target lifting) rescue equipment installed on the fire helicopter.

The main training contents included fire helicopter guidance and safety measures, helicopter rappel descent, and emergency treatment of rescue targets. The training was conducted in a manner similar to actual situations to acquire and repeatedly master mountain rescue skills.

Lee Kyung-seung, team leader of the 119 Aviation Unit, said, “The 119 Aviation Unit will continue to conduct regular life rescue training in preparation for mountain accidents to strengthen the on-site response capabilities of 119 Aviation Unit members and provide safe air rescue and emergency medical services to the residents of the province.”
