BTS Releases New Album Proof, Demonstrating 9-Year Journey
1 PM Anthology Album 'Proof' Release
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The group BTS will release their new album 'Proof' at 1 PM on the 10th.
This new release is an anthology album that encapsulates BTS's 9-year history since their debut. BTS is presenting a new album about 11 months after their single CD 'Butter' released on July 9 last year.
The new album 'Proof' consists of a total of 3 CDs. It contains songs reflecting the members' thoughts on BTS's past, present, and future. Including the title track 'Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)', there are 3 new songs such as 'Dallyeora Bangtan' and 'For Youth', as well as title tracks from previous albums, solo and unit songs showcasing the diverse charms of the seven members, unreleased tracks, and special versions, totaling 48 songs across the 3 CDs.
RM, sharing his thoughts ahead of the album release, said, "I always feel nervous when revealing new songs for the first time. I hope many people will like them." He added, "'Proof' is a special album marking BTS's 9th anniversary and the conclusion of Chapter 1. Since it centers on a message for the fans who have been with us for the past 9 years, I put the most effort into the lyrics."
Jin said, "'Proof' is an album containing BTS's history, so memories from the past 9 years vividly come to mind. I will also listen to it often," and added, "There are unreleased and previously unheard songs, so fans will also enjoy it."
Suga stated, "Since this album contains BTS's history, I paid attention to the track arrangement. If you listen to the album in order from the first track, it will be enjoyable," and said, "It was an honor to include our 9-year journey in the new album 'Proof'. I hope listeners will follow our footsteps and walk through them once again."
J-Hope said, "I'm happy and excited to release an album after a long time. I want to enjoy it with ARMY as soon as possible," and added, "'Proof' is an album that summarizes the history of BTS and ARMY, containing our time and memories, making it even more special. Since it contains BTS's soul, I hope it will be loved a lot."
Jimin said, "I feel happy yet subtle emotions releasing an album after a long time," and emphasized, "It is a more special album because it includes title tracks released so far and unreleased songs. It felt more special because I could check the emotions of myself and the members and talk together."
V said, "Since this album contains our 9-year journey, I sincerely hope it will be a precious gift to the fans who always support us and create new history."
Jungkook described 'Proof' as "feeling like finishing writing a very thick book," and introduced it as "an album made with care in every aspect just like previous albums, reflecting BTS's time and current emotions well."
The title track of 'Proof', 'Yet To Come', included in the first CD, is a medium-tempo alternative hip-hop genre song that looks back on BTS's musical journey while promising a bright future. The hopeful message "Your best moment is yet to come (You and I, best moment is yet to come)" harmonizes with BTS's calm voices.
'Dallyeora Bangtan', included in the second CD, is a song that captures BTS's free-spirited and unique energy from their debut days. The genre is uptempo hip-hop, showing their growth through the tunnel of time, becoming more affectionate and strong, while expressing BTS's identity of not being satisfied with the present and running forward more vigorously.
The fan song 'For Youth' is dedicated to ARMY and serves as the finale of the third CD and the climax of this album. It samples 'EPILOGUE : Young Forever' from the 2016 album 'Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa Young Forever' and starts with the sound of fans cheering at actual BTS concerts.
On their 9th debut anniversary, the 13th, BTS will premiere the album and perform new songs for the first time through 'Proof Live' on their YouTube channel 'BANGTANTV'. They will then appear consecutively on Mnet's 'M Countdown' on the 16th, KBS2's 'Music Bank' on the 17th, and SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 19th to meet fans.
