Elected Members Pledge to Faithfully Uphold Party Constitution and Ethical Standards Through Resolution Statement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] The Democratic Party Jeonnam Mokpo City Regional Committee held the 8th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Election Winners Workshop on the 9th at the Democratic Party Jeonnam Provincial Party Conference Room.
According to the committee on the 9th, this workshop for the Democratic Party Mokpo City Regional Committee’s elected metropolitan and basic council members was held under the theme "Let’s not lose our original intention! Always like the first day!"
The program included the reading of the elected officials’ “Integrity Legislative Practice Pledge,” expert lectures, and free discussions.
All elected members of the Democratic Party Mokpo City Regional Committee pledged through the resolution on that day to “comply with the party’s constitution and regulations and faithfully practice ethical standards.”
They also resolved to “prohibit all acts and speech that involve power abuse, disparagement of socially vulnerable groups, and any behavior causing sexual disgust and shame,” and declared to “work with integrity by eliminating all forms of solicitation, requests, and corruption during the performance of duties.”
The subsequent lectures included special talks and participant free discussions on ▲ How to lead local governments (Jeong Sungkwan, Chairman of the Korea Island Promotion Agency) ▲ Ordinance enactment and administrative audit (Woo Seunghui, Elected Mayor of Yeongam County) ▲ Cases of conflict of interest and the Anti-Graft Act (Park Junsu, Former Auditor of Jeollanam-do) ▲ Gender awareness and ways to enhance ethical consciousness (Ahn Kyungjoo, Director of Jeonnam Women and Family Foundation).
Assemblyman Kim Won-i said, “I once again extend my congratulations and encouragement to the Democratic Party provincial council members and 17 city council members elected in the local elections,” adding, “I hope you listen to the citizens with a humble attitude and fulfill your roles for the development of Mokpo.”
