[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Starbucks Korea's loyalty program, 'Starbucks Rewards,' has surpassed 9 million members. Since surpassing 8 million members in October last year, it took only 7 months?the shortest period ever?to increase by 1 million members to reach 9 million in May this year.
According to Starbucks on the 8th, the number of Rewards members reached 9 million as of the end of last month, which corresponds to 1 in every 6 people in South Korea (approximately 51.62 million population).

The total number of Stars accumulated by the 9 million members has exceeded 1.32 billion, and free beverage benefits?including member-exclusive birthday drink coupons and coupons provided every time 12 Stars are accumulated?have reached 138 million cups.
In the past year, the proportion of new members by age group was highest among those aged 20 and under at 38%. This was followed by those in their 40s at 24%, 30s at 23%, and 50s and above at 15%.
