"Animal Protection and Welfare at a Glance"… 'Gyeonggi-do Animal Protection Welfare Platform' Opens
Animal Protection Welfare Policies, Projects, Facilities, and Adoption Information Provision
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The 'Gyeonggi-do Animal Protection Welfare Platform' officially opened on the 8th.
This platform is an online space created by Gyeonggi-do to promote awareness of animal protection welfare and to serve as a communication space for both pet owners and non-pet owners.
According to the province, the platform was developed with input from experts in various fields such as digital technology, culture, and animal protection, making it easy for anyone to access the information they want.
On the platform, users can check detailed information about abandoned animals found within Gyeonggi-do and about pets currently being rescued and protected at the province-operated animal protection centers, 'Gyeonggi-do Helper Dog Sharing Center' and 'Gyeonggi-do Companion Animal Adoption Center,' without having to visit these centers in person. They can also apply for adoption or temporary care.
In particular, the platform aims to promote pet adoption by providing essential information to those considering adopting a pet.
It offers basic information such as photos of the pet’s appearance, breed, age, gender, and weight, as well as trainers’ opinions, explanations of the pet adoption process, and a space to share pet adoption reviews.
Additionally, for those interested in participating in volunteer activities such as caring for abandoned dogs or visiting the Wildlife School and Ecological Learning Center, sections like 'Volunteer Application' and 'Tour Application' have been established.
Furthermore, users can access information about the province’s animal protection welfare projects and policies, various events, the Wildlife Rescue Management Center, Wildlife School, and Companion Animal Adoption Center.
The province plans to add features later this year to guide various volunteer, education, and event programs operated at the 'Companion Animal Theme Park' and 'Cat Adoption Center,' which are scheduled to be completed in the second half of the year.
