It is receiving praise as a strong indication of a firm commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, as it was completed earlier than other mayor-elects and is composed of experts from various fields.
Jeong’s transition committee consists of a total of 15 members, focusing on the implementation of five major campaign pledges, and is organized into divisions such as ▲Culture and Arts ▲Urban Planning ▲Education ▲Economy ▲Welfare. Each division includes experts evenly distributed from diverse sectors such as culture and arts, economy, and academia.
Professor Kim Jeongtak, appointed as the chairman, is an urban planning expert who participated as a member of the 'Gwanghwamun Presidential Era Committee' during the early administration of former President Moon Jae-in. Former Jongno Chamber of Commerce president Kim Kwon was appointed as vice chairman, and former Seoul City Council member Jeong Changhee was appointed as an advisor.
Lee Sangbong, a member of the Culture and Arts division, is a fashion designer known to the public through appearances on TV programs such as 'Infinite Challenge' and previously served as a member of the Innovation Committee for Gyeonggi Province Governor-elect Nam Kyungpil. Lee will take on the important role of establishing the driving principles for the mayor-elect’s key campaign pledge, the 'Cultural New Deal.'
Regarding another major pledge, the development of the eastern Jongno area (Changsin-dong Future City Project), Professor Kim Jinsu, who served as an advisory member of the 20th Presidential Transition Committee, will provide focused consultation.
The transition committee formed on this day will hold a meeting with Mayor-elect Jeong Munheon on the 10th, conduct a plaque unveiling ceremony on the 13th, and then officially begin the transition work for the district administration.
Additionally, Mayor-elect Jeong Munheon plans to form an advisory committee, separate from the transition committee, led by former Jongno District Council member Shim Jae-deuk, to communicate with local residents.
