Kim Juhyun Nominated as Financial Services Commission Chairman... Ambassadors to Japan, China, Russia, and the UN Also Appointed (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 7th nominated Kim Joo-hyun, chairman of the Korea Federation of Credit Finance, as the candidate for Financial Services Commission chairman.
President Yoon also appointed ambassadors to the UN, Japan, China, and Russia, as well as the Secretary for Culture and Sports in the Social Affairs Office and the Secretary for Public Proposals in the Civil Society Office of the Presidential Secretariat.
He appointed former Ambassador to the UK Hwang Jun-guk as ambassador to the UN, former President of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy Yoon Deok-min as ambassador to Japan, Professor Jung Jae-ho of Seoul National University’s Department of Diplomacy as ambassador to China, and Chair Professor Jang Ho-jin of Korea Maritime and Ocean University as ambassador to Russia.
With this, including former lawmaker Cho Tae-yong, who was previously appointed ambassador to the US, the Yoon Seok-yeol administration has completed the first round of ambassadorial appointments to the four major powers.

President Yoon also appointed Yoo Byung-chae, Director of the Sports Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as Secretary for Culture and Sports in the Social Affairs Office of the Presidential Secretariat, and Heo Seong-woo, former Deputy Director of the Transition Committee’s Administrative Office, as Secretary for Public Proposals in the Civil Society Office.
