Focused Mental Health Care ... Group Counseling for Young Adults Aged 19 to 34 Conducted
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Pohang City Buk-gu Health Center Mental Health Welfare Center is recruiting participants for the ‘Haebang Club’ group counseling program, which adds new vitality to lethargic youth, from June 24 to August 12.
According to the 2021 survey by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the risk group for depression and the rate of suicidal thoughts among people in their 20s and 30s were the highest among all age groups. The number of suicides among people in their 20s in Buk-gu, Pohang City, increased threefold from 3 in 2016 to 9 in 2020.
This program is free and open to all youth aged 19 to 34. It covers understanding oneself, addressing unresolved tasks and psychological trauma, and methods for regulating emotions.
This year, Buk-gu Health Center was designated as the Pohang City Mind Link institution, the first in Gyeongbuk Province to support the mental health of youth, and is conducting various programs for young people. It is scheduled to officially open in the second half of the year.
