Distribution Industry Launches Various Campaigns on Environment Day... Leading ESG Initiatives

CJ CheilJedang carried out a volunteer activity where employees cleaned up beaches as part of the marine waste reduction policy called the ‘Banryeohaebyeon Campaign.’ About 50 CJ CheilJedang employees collected plastic waste and other debris at Masian Beach and the nearby coastal road in Yeongjongdo, Incheon. They plan to conduct the Banryeohaebyeon Campaign activities more than three times a year, including the second half of this year.
In addition, CJ CheilJedang, in collaboration with Emart’s plastic reduction campaign ‘Gapuljiu (Take it, Protect Plastic, Protect Our Sea)’ and Lotte Mart’s Earth Love campaign ‘RE:EARTH,’ has installed and is operating Hetbahn container collection boxes at all 78 Emart stores in the metropolitan area and 10 representative Lotte Mart stores.
Korea Coca-Cola is recruiting participants for the second round of ‘Wonderful Campaign’ Season 3, which helps promote proper separation and disposal of used beverage PET bottles and fosters a positive resource circulation culture, starting at the end of this month.
Nestl?’s chocolate brand ‘KitKat’ launched a consumer participation campaign called ‘Adding Hearts Challenge’ on the 3rd to support eco-friendly activities, and OB Beer held an ‘Upcycling Festival’ where employees upcycled discarded beer lees and PET bottle caps to reduce carbon emissions. Pulmuone, Yuhan-Kimberly, and SSG.com are jointly conducting an eco-friendly campaign providing eco-friendly table mats to customers who purchase their products.

Lotte On and Lotte Department Store are also running an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) campaign throughout this month to mark the 50th anniversary of Environment Day. Lotte Department Store will open a pop-up store selling ESG-related products until August, while Lotte On will operate the entire store themed around Reals, introducing three eco-friendly brands and related products every week.
