Optimize Construction Costs and Energy Consumption... Get Free Consulting for 'Zero Energy Buildings'
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Announces Call for Applicants for 'ZEB Design Consulting Support Project'
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 5th that, together with the Korea Energy Agency, it will open applications for the 'Visiting ZEB Design Consulting Support Project' to promote 'Zero Energy Buildings' (ZEB), which maximize insulation performance and minimize energy demand by utilizing renewable energy systems.
This project, which has been operating since 2018, targets buildings seeking ZEB certification and provides free consulting by institutional operators and eco-friendly design experts to encourage the expansion of ZEB.
ZEB aims to minimize energy loads by maximizing insulation performance and installing high-efficiency equipment. At the same time, it is a key policy in the building sector for carbon neutrality by minimizing the energy demand of buildings through renewable energy production and monitoring (Building Energy Management System).
The project prioritizes buildings that are subject to mandatory ZEB certification under relevant laws and regulations and wish to obtain ZEB Grade 4 or higher, as well as buildings not subject to mandatory certification but voluntarily seeking certification.
If selected for the support project, applicants can receive design alternatives that comprehensively consider energy performance and costs by analyzing the characteristics of each building. This is expected to improve energy performance, create a comfortable indoor environment, and reduce energy cost burdens.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the Korea Energy Agency website from the 6th until the 31st of next month, filling it out, and submitting it.
Um Jeong-hee, Director of Building Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "The expansion of ZEB is essential not only for national greenhouse gas reduction and energy demand management but also for reducing the energy cost burden on citizens. We ask for your great interest and participation in this project to promote the spread of ZEB."
