20s Woman Dies During Neck Disc Surgery... Autopsy Planned

The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 3rd that a complaint was filed against hospital officials on charges of professional negligence resulting in death, and an investigation is underway.
A (28-year-old female) fell into a coma while undergoing neck disc surgery at a spine specialty hospital in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 2 p.m. the previous day, and she died around 9:42 p.m. without recovering.
The bereaved family is reportedly claiming medical malpractice.
A police official stated, "To determine the exact cause of A's death, we plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service."
